Barrel racing is an intense sport where the winner is determined by just thousandths of a second. No matter how talented the horse is, and how skilled the rider is, just one minor error by horse or rider can be the deciding factor whether they leave an event with prize money or not.
At Cadence Horsemanship we focus on more than just three barrels and the fastest time. Our program is focused on attracting youth competitors who want to learn both the horsemanship and the sportsmanship that results in success.
Focusing on horsemanship, physical and mental toughness and skill development in a healthy competition platform is what sets our program apart from others. We believe it is about more than just having the fastest time around three cans, it is also about being a good teammate, picking each other up when we fall and cheering for our team and not against the other. That doesn't mean that we are not competitive though! Our team routinely puts up fast times, takes home $ and has fun in the process. Interested in joining our team?
Support
Team members receive the support of Coach Kristin at practices and events as well as the opportunity to work with a leading barrel racing trainer in the industry.
Personal Development
Team Cadence works with Athlete Mentors to improve our performance both inside and outside the arena. These classroom style practices focus on the mental part of competition such as focus, self-talk, confidence and more!

Team members receive exclusive Cadence Rodeo Team apparel and discount codes for other equestrian brands.
Our 2022-2023 season runs from September 6, 2022 - September 3, 2023. Team members are required to participate in weekly practices and compete in an average of one race per month. During the season we race at multiple local races, the Sherry Cervi Youth Championships in Tucson, AZ (January) and concludes with competition at the Buckles & Barrels for Bailey event in Las Vegas, NV (Labor Day Weekend, September).

We know that horse ownership is a BIG DEAL. Because of this, we offer a Guest Rider Program to allow developing riders the opportunity to experience the more competitive side of the sport before going all in on leasing or owning a horse, trailer purchase, boarding, etc. Parents of riders who apply to the Guest Rider Program are highly encouraged to attend our upcoming Horse Ownership for Parents clinic.
